3 Days 2 Night langhe Monferrato
Day 1 - Arrival and transfer to Casale Monferrato
At your arrival at the airport you will be greeted by our English speaking guide
and you will be driven, by a private car, from Milan to the area of Oviglio or
of Casale Monferrato where your hotel is situated (Castello di Oviglio or Hotel
Candiani or similar star rating hotels)
Once arrived at your hotel you will have free time to spend in the pleasant city
of Casale Monferrato and to get in conctact with the atmosphere and with the
beauty of the area. Casale Monferrato is a nice little city on the right side of
the Po river, rised during the Roman period. The age of his major splendor
starts from the middle of XV century, when Monferrato’s Marquis chose Casale as
capital of the region. Nowadays it is still possible to admire the wonderful
roman Cathedral (XI century) and the synagogue, a jewel of hebrew baroque
architecture, which is one of the most important in all Italy, with his museum
of Hebrew art. Dinner at the hotel restaurant and overnight hotel.
Day 2 - Langhe e Monferrato
After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you on a
full day tour on the Langhe and Monferrato region.
In the morning you will visit the city of Alba, the capital of white truffles,
very famous for its food and wines. Truffles and superior quality wines will you
be the most pleasant part of your tour.
Wine tasting at “Boroli Cellar”, where you will taste the most famous and
valuable wines of the region, such as Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, and lunch in
Alba. The property is made up of around 30 hectares, of which around 24 are
vineyards, which will come into full production in 2002 to 2004; in fact in the
year 2002 the restructuring plan and vineyards reimplantation have been
completed. The vines grown are nebbiolo, barbera, merlot, cabernet, sauvignon,
dolcetto, white moscato and chardonnay, following the Guiot standard of vine
raising.
In the afternoon the tour continue to Tagliolo Monferrato, to visit its medieval
Castle and the surrounding area.
After your visit you will return back to your hotel. Dinner in the hotel
restaurant and Overnight.
Day
3 - Acqui Terme or Casale Monferrato and Departures
Our assistant will meet you after you breakfast and your check out from the
hotel, and will bring you for a morning tour in the city of Acqui Terme*, the
city of wellness and history, or of Casale Monferrato, a nice Roman city.
After your lunch you will be driven with a private car at the airport, where you will catch you departing fly.
Note “Wine & Food”: *Acqui Terme is also famous for the “brachetto” wine, for the amaretti and for the “stoccafisso”fish, for the truffles, mushrooms, etc.
