Day 1: Arrival in Naples – Welcome Pizza Dinner
Arrival at Naples International Airport (NAP). Check-in at your 4-star hotel. Free time to explore the vibrant city center. Afternoon: transfer (not included) to a welcome dinner at a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria. Overnight in Naples.
Day 2: Naples Walking Tour + Royal Palace of Caserta
Breakfast. Meet your local guide for a walking tour of Naples: Piazza del Plebiscito (Royal Palace), Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, Galleria Umberto, Piazza Municipio, Castel Nuovo with Vesuvius backdrop. Continue along Piazza Borsa, Corso Umberto, Spaccanapoli, Piazza del Gesù (Santa Chiara), Piazza Nilo, San Gregorio Armeno, and Basilica of San Gennaro. Lunch in a traditional trattoria. Afternoon: transfer to Caserta to visit the magnificent Royal Palace of Caserta (La Reggia) with entrance to palace and gardens. Return to Naples. Overnight.
Day 3: Pompeii Archaeological Park
Breakfast. Morning transfer to Pompeii. Meet your local guide for a visit to the Pompeii Archaeological Park – the ancient Roman city buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore homes, shops, and public buildings frozen in time. Time for lunch in Pompeii (not included) and free time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Pompeii. Afternoon return to Naples. Free time to relax. Evening dinner on your own. Overnight in Naples.
Day 4: Naples → Cosenza – Welcome Dinner
Breakfast. Free time for shopping and optional excursions. Check-out and transfer to Cosenza, the heart of Calabria. Arrival at your 4-star hotel, check-in, and time to relax. Welcome dinner featuring local Calabrian products. Overnight in Cosenza.
Day 5: Cosenza – "Little Athens of Calabria" & Open Air Museum
Breakfast. Meet your guide at Piazza Bilotti for a tour of Cosenza, known as the "Little Athens of Calabria." Founded in the 4th century BC by the Bruttii, at the confluence of the Crati and Busento rivers. Start in the modern part along Corso Mazzini, discovering the MAB Open Air Museum – works by Dalì, Cascella, De Chirico, Manzù, Modigliani, Greco, and more. Then visit Piazza dei Bruzi, the medieval village, the Norman-Swabian Castle, San Domenico Church (Gothic & Renaissance architecture), and its cloister. Continue to Corso Telesio, Piazza Grande, and the majestic Cathedral (mid-11th century). Ascend to the Norman-Swabian Castle (937 AD). Descend to the confluence of the Crati and Busento rivers – legendary burial site of King Alaric of the Goths with his treasure. Lunch with typical local dishes. Receive a commemorative scroll and proclamation as "Cosentino ad honorem"! Afternoon free. Overnight in Cosenza.
Day 6: Sila National Park – Farm, Ice Cream, Wildlife & Lake Cecita
Breakfast. Full day dedicated to the Sila National Park, the "Green Heart of Calabria." First stop: a local farm for a visit and "Km 0" homemade ice cream tasting. Explore the park: Visitor Center Dome, wildlife observatories, museum, geological garden, botanical garden. Typical lunch in Camigliatello Silano at a local trattoria with traditional "Silano" dishes. Afternoon walk in the village. Transfer along the old park road to visit Lake Cecita and the Cupone Nature Reserve. Return to Cosenza. Overnight.
Day 7: Sibari Archaeological Park + Rossano Licorice Museum
Breakfast. Full day dedicated to Sibari and Rossano Calabro. Visit the Archaeological Park of Sibari – three overlapping cities of Magna Graecia: Iron Age, Greek Sybaris (destroyed by Crotone in 510 BC), colony of Turi (444 BC), and Roman Copiae/Thurii (194 BC). Walk along the Cardi and Decumani. Transfer to the Sibaritide Museum to see local archaeological finds. Time for lunch (not included). In Rossano Scalo, visit the Amarelli Licorice Museum – the Amarelli family has traded licorice since 1500. In 1731, the first proto-industrial plant was founded. The museum received the "Guggenheim Prize for Enterprise and Culture" in 2001. Taste typical licorice specialties. Return to Cosenza. Overnight.
Day 8: Cosenza – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time for walking, shopping, or optional excursions. Transfer to Lamezia Terme Airport (SUF) or Cosenza train station. End of services.
