5 Days 4 Nights Cookery Wine Testing Tour
From the Alto Monferrato where the vineyards and crops of the hills remind us of the old traditional values of the countryside to the sea of Liguria and 5 Terre. Our tour contonue to the sweet hills of Tuscany.
Day 1 – Morsasco/Monferrato (Piedmont)
Arrival at Morsasco Farmhouse (Monferrato).
In the afternoon you can choose between:
cookery Lesson in the big kitchen with the cooker who will show you some
traditional recipe.
The aim of the experience is to learn to prepare two typical Monferrato recipes,
with tasting of the dishes prepared and combine them with local specialities.
Tasting of Dolcetto by Ovada doc and Barbera.
Pottery Experience (3 hours): a brief introduction to the working techniques,
decoration and baking of the clay. Have fun, prepare and make your own object,
either by hand or with the potter’s wheel in the laboratory (ceramic souvenirs
for the attendants at the course).
Dinner and fun time with “mega-tombola”, cards – overnight in farmhouse.
Day 2 – Monferrato (Morsasco)
Breakfast with home-made focaccia and cacciatorino salame.
Visit to the wine cellars, the agricultural museum and wine tasting of the white
Cortese wine of the Alto Monferrato.
Shopping time with the possibility to buy the local wines: Dolcetto, Barbera,
Cortese, swee fruit pickles, jams, home made salame, local cheese “Robiola” and
the artistic ceramics. After lunch at the farmhouse, departure for Acqui Terme
and visit of the town. Possibility to enter the Regina Thermal and Wellness
Center.
Dinner and overnight in farmhouse.
Day 3 – Ovada – Genoa – Portofino - Camogli
Breakfast and departure for Genoa, the “pearl of the Mediterranean Sea”.
Ideally located on the shore of the Ligurian Sea, in the heart of the Italian
Riviera, the city, designated European Capital of Culture in 2004, is a
bustling, fascinating place to explore, with its beautiful and animated harbour
called “Porto Antico” completely renovated and very interesting to visit. Then,
a visit of the city from the top of the Bigo, emulating a ship crane, which
would support a fabric membrane over a public piazza and an elevator ride to
provide panoramic views of Genoa.
A visit of the Medieval Town, and the narrow winding streets, the typical “carruggi”,
flanked by beautiful palaces.
In the old town you can smell a nice aroma coming out from the old shops that
produce “focacce”, “farinate” and cakes and you can find the old “osterie”,
simple but typical restaurants where you can eat excellent fish and meet the
local people. Lunch in a typical Restaurant.
In the afternoon, stop at Portofino for a walk, then you reach Camogli for the
dinner in restaurant and overnight in your very typical Bed and Breakfast.
Day 4 – Firenze - Siena
After breakfast you’ll continue to Firenze, light lunch in a “vineria” and
in the afternoon free time to visit the town. In the late afternoon you0ll reach
Siena. Dinner in a Medieval restaurant called “Gallo Nero” and overnight.
Day 5 – Siena
Breakfast in hotel. Today you’ll discover all corners of Terre di Siena
without loosing track. The most spectacular streets, the path and the routes in
a spectacular area. This is a way to get in touch with the area, to feel it and
to discover the remotest corners in Terre di Siena. You’ll join a “Wine Tour” by
bus and escorted by a tour leader: “San Gimignano” or “Brunello e Montalcino”
wine bus tour or “Pienza e Montepulciano” or “Chianti” wine bus tour.
During the tour you’ll visit a wine-producing farm as well.
During the itinerary there will be short stops to admire the stunning views and
to get to know the most important art cities.
